OUR PASTOR
Rev. Odie Lee Lawrence is a native of Williamson County. He is a 1960 graduate of Franklin Training School and is a graduate of American Baptist College with a Bachelors of Divinity Degree.
Pastor Lawrence has labored in the field of ministry for 62 years; acknowledging his calling to the preaching ministry in 1961 at the age of 18.
Pastor Lawrence has served as Pastor of Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN for 32 years now; accepting the call in June 1990.
In addition to his preaching, teaching (which is his true love) and leadership responsibilities to the Prosperity Church Family, Pastor Lawrence has always been very active in providing leadership to various groups, serving in many positions such as: West Nashville District Association Moderator, Missionary Baptist State Convention of Tennessee 2nd Vice-President, Missionary Baptist State Convention of Tennessee 1st Vice-President, Stones Rivers District Association , Sunday School Congress President, Smithfork District Association Sunday School Congress Vice-President, Smithfork District Association Sunday School Congress President. Pastor Lawrence has served more time than any other pastor as Moderator of the Smithfork District Association; having served three terms (12 years) as Moderator. He recently served served as the 1st Vice President of the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Tennessee and is now serving as Advisor to MBSC of TN President, Adric Lane.
OUR LEADING LADY
Mrs. Theresa Rená Lawrence is a native of Rutherford County. She was born September 20, 1969 to parents Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Frances) James.
Rená was baptized on July 4, 1976 and has been a proud member of Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church ever since. Her Husband/Pastor, Rev. Odie Lawrence, serves as the under shepherd and she can always be found supporting him in his ministry.
Rená attended Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, TN and went on to attend Middle Tennessee State University where she graduated in 1994 receiving a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree. Currently Rená is employed with CVS Health as a Senior Manager, Project Program Management.
Rená has always been very active in various areas of the church at many levels. Rená currently serves as a member of the Music Ministry at Prosperity, a member of the Multimedia Team and serves as Administrative Assistant to Pastor Lawrence. She is also Administrative Assistant for Smithfork District Association.
Rená is also an active member of the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Tennessee where she most recently served as the Vice-President of the Minister’s Wives and Widows Ministry and is currently serving as the Administrative Assistant working with the General President, First-Vice President and Congress President for the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Tennessee.
